    1 large onion, chopped
    1 small pkg (454 g) dry split peas
    2 cups diced ham
    8 medium potato, diced
    2 cups baby carrots, diced
    16 cups (approx) cold water


This makes a very thick soup. You could water it down even more for fewer calories per serving.


1. In a large pot, add water, onion, ham and split peas. Slowly bring to a simmer and allow to simmer a few hours until the peas start to turn to mush.
2. Add potato and carrots about 20 minutes before done cooking.

Serving Size: Makes 8 - 1 cup servings
