Ingredients

Add 4 cups of bread flour
    3tlb of sugar
1 1/2 tsp of salt to bread machine.
Move all the flour to one side and make a well with your finger and put 1 tab of yeast in well.

On stove heat water and butter to 120-130 degrees

Pour mixture on side of pan with little to no flour.

Put machine on dough setting and press start

    15 min. In add egg

Let mix another 15 min and dough cycle should be done (minus rising time)

Do not let it rise in machine. Loaf is too large.

Remove to buttered loaf pan and form dough to fit pan.
Let it rise for 30 min- 1 hour covered or until doubled.
Bake in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes.
Loaf will be nice and brown.
Let rest 10 min or so and then remove from pan to cool. Bread may be moist on bottom. That's normal. Let it cool and then wrap in foil and store on counter or fridge.

Tips

There are no preservatives, so if you don't plan on eating entire loaf in a day, refrigerate to keep longer. Otherwise bread will go bad within 3 days if just left on counter. Once you start making bread, the store bread if just no good. To add interest, I sometimes make with 4 1/2 tsp of Italian seasoning.
