    1/4 cup brown rice
    1/4 cup dried split peas
    2 cups vegetarian broth

    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp mustard seed
    1 tsp caraway seeds
    1 tsp fennel seeds
    1/4 cup old fashioned oatmeal, uncooked

    3 TBS raw sunflower seeds
    1 TBS chia or flax seeds
    black pepper, to taste
    cayenne pepper, to taste
    salt, to taste
    1 tsp onion powder

    2 1/2 TBS nutritional yeast
    1/4 cup texturized vegetable protein

    4 cups fresh, cooked mushrooms
    1/4 cup tomato paste

    3 TBS reduced sugar ketchup


This freezes very well.


Cook first 3 ingredients until tender adding water if necessary.
Place in mixing bowl.

Grind next 5 ingredients in clean coffee grinder.
Add to cooked peas and rice.

Grind next 6 ingredients.
Add to cooked peas and rice.

Add next 2 ingredients to mixture and stir.

Puree fresh cooked mushrooms and tomato paste with either an immersion blender or blender.

Mix all ingredients well.
Adjust seasonings.

Bake in 9 by 12 inch baking pan at 350 degree oven and bake covered for 40 minutes.
Top with ketchup and bake uncovered for 10 - 12 minutes.

Let cool 15 minutes before slicing.
