    Butter, unsalted, softened .25 cup
    Brown Sugar, .5 cup, packed
    Granulated Sugar, .5 cup
    Unsweetened applesauce, .5 cup
    Egg, fresh, 4 large
    Baking Soda, 1 tsp
    1 tbsp water
    Loveless Cafe Blackberry Preserves, 1 cup
    Flour, white, 1.25 cup
    Whole Wheat Flour, 0.5 cup
    clove, ground = 1 tsp, 1 tsp
    Nutmeg, ground, .5 tbsp (remove)
    Cardamom, ground, 1 tsp
    cinnamon, ground, 1.5 tsp
    Salt, .5 tsp
    Buttermilk, .75 cup
    Black Walnuts, .5 cup, chopped
    powder sugar for dusting
    blackberries, fresh, for garnish


In a large bowl, beat the butter, applesauce, and both sugars until well blended. Dissolve baking soda in water and add to mixture along with blackberry preserves. Stir by hand until well blended.

Beat eggs in one at a time.

In a medium bowl, combine both flours, spices, and salt. Blend well.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing by hand. Alternate mixing in dry ingredients and buttermilk. Stir until well combined.

Fold in walnuts.

Pour batter into well greased bundt cake pan.

Bake for 35-50 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 15 min. and remove from pan.

When cake is cool, lightly dust with powdered sugar. Garnish with blackberries.
