This makes a simple, healthy, and very tasty side dish. This makes a simple, healthy, and very tasty side dish.
Number of Servings: 2


    1 Cup Instant Brown Rice
    1 Cup 98% Fat Free Chicken Broth
    1 T. Light Margarine
    1 Scallion, thinly sliced
    1 Clove Garlic
    1 T. Minced Onion Flakes
    1 tsp. Garlic Salt
    salt & pepper to taste


Mix chicken broth, margarine, scallions, garlic, onion flakes, and garlic salt. Heat over stove until boiling. Add the rice, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer. Follow cooking instructions for the instant rice to determine how long to simmer and how long to let stand.

Fluff with a fork. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

1 serving = 2/3 cup cooked rice
