    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 teaspoons ground paprika
    2 cups fat free half and half
    4 egg whites
    2 large yellow sweet onions, sliced 1/4-inch thick


Use parchment paper to keep them from sticking. You will need three bowls total.

If you have extra flour and egg left, just look for the ones that aren't coated enough and dredge again until it's all used up.


Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

In a small bowl, combine the flour and paprika. In another bowl whisk together the half and half and eggs. Add half of the flour mixture to the liquid and beat until smooth and thickened.

Dredge the onion rings in the flour mixture and then drop into the batter. Repeat.

Arrange on the prepared baking sheets in a single layer making sure there is space between them. Then place in the oven. Cook until golden brown, 14 to 20 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, flip over each onion ring to ensure even browning.

Serving Size: Makes about 32 onion rings, so 8 onion rings per serving
