Ingredients

    2 tsp sugar
    1c. warm water
    1 ounce active yeast

    2 c. boiling water
    1/4 cup white sugar
    4 tsp salt
    1/4 cup margarine
    1 c. cool water

    6-8 cups flour (nutritional information is for 8 cups flour)

Directions

combine first 3 ingredients and let sit 10 minutes until yeast has risen. While yeast rises, add sugar, salt, margarine and boiling water to bowl and let margarine melt before adding cool water. Do not add risen yeast until water temperature has cooled to lukewarm.

Add 5 cups flour and stir in completely, then gradually add more flour until dough is tacky but not sticky. Turn out on floured counter and knead several times before placing in bowl covered with tea towel and letting raise.

Once doubled in size, punch down and put in bread pans then cover and let raise again before cooking at 350 F for approximately 20 - 25 minutes until golden brown and loaf sounds hollow when tapped.

Makes 4 loaves. Nutritional information based on each loaf being sliced into 12 largish slices.
