Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    125g butter
    125g demerara suger
    2 medium eggs
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp grated orange peel
    250g wholemeal flour
    3 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp ground allspice
    50g chopped mixed nuts
    50g raisins
    250g apple puree (unsweetened)

    Topping
    3 tblsp chopped nuts
    25g butter
    50g wholemeal flour
    2 tblsp demerara sugar
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions

cream butter and suger together add the eggs gradually then the vanilla extractand orange peel.
In another bowl combime the remaining ingriediants exept the apple then fold into egg mixture then stir in the apple puree
pour into a greased 8" round tin, level the top, mix topping ingriediants together and sprinkle over the top, bake at 160 c or gas mark 3 for 1 1/2 hours or untill a skewer comes out clean, remove from oven and allow to cool in tin before turning out.
