Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    Yellow Cornmeal, 1/2 cup
    Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 cup
    Granulated Sugar, 1 Tbls
    Baking Powder, 2 tsp
    Salt, 1 dash
    Milk, nonfat, 1/2 cup
    1 Egg
    Vegetable Oil, 2 tbsp
    4 cups Chili with beans
    8 Hot Dogs sliced into coins

Directions

Serves 8. Heat oven to 425* Spray an oven safe skillet or baking dish with oil. Pour the chili in the pan and top it with the hot dog pieces. Combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. spoon the cornbread mixture on top of the chili-dog mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

    Made this tonight for my family. I suggest not using the jiffy cornbread mix. It adds calories. Next time I think I will try lower sodium chili and turkey franks instead of beef hot dogs. Ball Park makes turkey franks that have fewer calories and less sodium. - 10/12/11

    I, too, made this with a packaged cornbread mix. My wife absolutely loved it!! She added mustard to her second helping (like Frito Pie) and liked it even more. Thanks for such a great, yet simple, recipe. - 3/27/08
