1 lb 93% lean ground beef
    1 quart spaghetti sauce
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste (optional, for thickening sauce)
    1/2 medium onion, chopped

2 cups (not packed) nonfat cottage cheese
10 oz part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded
    1 large egg
    1/2 tsp oregano
    1/4 tsp ground black pepper

6.4 oz lasagna noodles (about 9 noodles)

Cook lasagna noodles per package directions.

Meanwhile, brown ground beef with onion. Mix together spaghetti sauce with tomato paste, if desired. Once ground beef is cooked through, drain any fat and add sauce. Heat through.

Mix together in large bowl the cottage cheese, 6 ounces of the mozzarella, egg, oregano, and ground pepper.

Layer pasta, sauce, and cheese in a 9x13 pan. Sprinkle remaining 4 ounces of mozzarella on top of the lasagna. Bake at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

Serving Size: Makes 12 servings (9x13 size pan)
