Introduction

Making soup in the crock pot is so simple, delicious & affordable. This soup pairs chicken, black beans and Proresso's new Fire Roasted Tomato Recipe Starters cooking sauce. My friends and family can't get enough of this awesome soup!
Making soup in the crock pot is so simple, delicious & affordable. This soup pairs chicken, black beans and Proresso's new Fire Roasted Tomato Recipe Starters cooking sauce. My friends and family can't get enough of this awesome soup!

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 lb boneless chicken, cut into bite sized pieces (3-4 breasts)
    1 18 oz Can Progresso Fire Roasted Tomato Recipe Starters Sauce
    2 Cans (10.75 oz) Chicken Broth
    2 Cans (15 oz) Black beans rinsed and drained
    1 small onion chopped
    2 cloves garlic minced
    Salt and Pepper to taste (I use about 1 tbspn to start and add more as needed throughout the cooking process)
    1 tbspn garlic powder
    1 tbspn chili powder (I add more as needed depending on how spicy I want it)
    2 bay leaves (optional, but they add great flavor)
    1 tbspn lime juice
    Crushed Tortilla chips, cilantro, and shredded cheese for garnishing

Tips

Stir throughout the day and add more spices as needed.


Directions

Chop chicken and onions, add to slow cooker.
Add rinsed and drained black beans and remaining ingredients (besides tortilla chips, cilantro and cheese).
Stir. Cover and heat on high for 4-5 hours (low 7-8 hours).
Serve in bowl topped with tortilla chips, cilantro and cheese.
Enjoy!
