    2 large onions
    4 minced garlic cloves
    1 chopped green bell pepper
    1/2 cup vegetable or olive oil
    1 container mushrooms, chopped
    16 cups chopped tomatoes
    2 Tbsp dried oregano
    2 Tbsp dried basil
    2 Tbsp Italian spice
    1/4 cup chopped parsley
    1/4 cup sugar
    3/4 tsp black pepper

    *6 oz can tomato paste
    *1 lb ground beef


1. In a slow cooker saute onion, garlic, green pepper, and oil. Cook until onion is transparent.
2. Add chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, and spices. Cook for 2 to 3 hours on low heat. Stir frequently.
3. Let sauce cool. Pour sauce into quart size freezer containers. Store in freezer.
4. *When ready to use, cook ground beef and stir in can of tomato paste.

Serving Size: makes 5 family size freezer portions
