Introduction

Healthy but delicious Italian meat sauce. I am allergic to basil but can add it also. The cinnamon replaces the sugar. Serve with pasta or use with other dishes. Ingredients

    1 lb. Ground Turkey (93% lean)
    2 15 oz. cans of Tomato Sauce (for thicker sauce switch one can to tomato paste, or diced tomatoes)
    3-5 cloves of garlic, crushed
    1/2 Onion, chopped
    1 tbsp. of dried or fresh Oregano
    1 Bay leaf (remove before serving)
    1/4 tsp. Thyme, dried or fresh
    1/4 tsp. Rosemary, dried or fresh
    1/4 tsp. Fennel seed
    1/4-1/2 tsp. cinnamon (taste sauce after 1/4, if need more sweetness add more)
    Sea Salt to taste

Noodles are not included in nutritional information.


Directions

In large skillet brown turkey on medium heat, stirring often until well browned. Add garlic and onion, cook until soft and fragrant. Add all spices to taste. Add tomato sauce. Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, until flavors blend, stirring occasionally. Serve with whole grain noodles. I like brown rice noodles.
