Super-easy for a great breakfast with no fuss! Super-easy for a great breakfast with no fuss!
Number of Servings: 4

    1 cup steel cut oats
    4 cups 1% milk
    1 tbsp cinnamon
    2 tbsp salted butter

    (above are included in calculations)

Add-ins (not included in nutrition info) - fruit (especially dried), sweeteners, nuts, pumpkin, apple butter, other spices, etc. etc. (raisins plump overnight!) can all be added with the oats to water/milk. Toast nuts, seeds, wheat germ, flaxseed/meal with the oats in the saucepan. You can dry toast or use coconut oil instead of butter. Endless possibilities!

Be sure to stir when re-heating or oats will stick to the bottom of your pan. Ask me how I know ;)

(Optional, butter included in calories) Toast oats and cinnamon in butter in a large pan until lightly browned and toasty-scented.

Bring milk to a light boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in oats and cinnamon. Cover and remove from heat.

Let sit overnight, stir and reheat in the morning over low heat or in microwave.

Serving Size: 1/4 of finished product, 1/4 cup dry oats and 1 cup milk
