Introduction

Instead of scalloped potatoes, I tried macaroni. Instead of scalloped potatoes, I tried macaroni.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    Butter, salted, 3 tbsp
    Onions, raw, 1 slice, medium (1/8" thick)
    Organic All-Purpose White Flour, 1/4 cup
    Milk, 3.25%, 2 1/4 cup
    Pepper, black, 1/8 tsp
    Yellow Mustard, 1/4 tsp or 1 packet
    Salt, 1 dash (to your taste)
    Nutmeg, ground, 1 dash (to your taste)
    Macaroni, enriched, 567 grams (16-20 oz.)

Directions

1) Heat oven to 350F.
2) Boil salted water for pasta. Prepare as directed by package (or knowledge).
3) Lightly oil baking pan.
4) In a med. saucepan, over med-low heat, melt butter. Add onions & saute for 1 min.
5) Stir in flour til smooth & bubbly. Add milk, salt & pepper. Cook, stirring til thick & bubbly.
6) Stir in mustard & nutmeg. Pour the mixture over finished noodles, in the baking pan. Mix thoroughly.
7) Cover w/ foil. Bake for 45mins. (depending on oven). Uncover & bake for 10-15 mins.

Makes approx. 10 servings.
