Introduction

Even my husband says these are better than his mom's. Even my husband says these are better than his mom's.

Ingredients

    5 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 large egg
    1 tablespoon butter
    1/2 cup 2% milk (or as needed for desired consistency)
    1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

Put cubed potatoes in a large stainless steel pot (not coated), fill with water to cover, add salt and bring to boil. Lower heat to strong simmer and cook until soft; approximately 20 minutes.

Remove potatoes from heat and drain. In same pot, add egg, butter, and nutmeg to potatoes. Using a blender, smash potatoes as much as possible before turning blender on, then, adding milk in small portions, beat potatoes, adding more milk until desired consistency is reached.
