Introduction

I made these the first time as a topper/side for a big salad. They're tasty treats that fit nice into a lunch pale too. I made these the first time as a topper/side for a big salad. They're tasty treats that fit nice into a lunch pale too.

Ingredients

    4 sheets of thawed phyllo dough
    olive oil
    4 oz ground sirloin steak
    .25 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
    taco seasoning or your favorite spices

Directions

Layer four sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each with olive oil as you stack them. Brown ground beef and season taco-style. Dish the ground beef into a strip on one side of the phyllo dough with a 2 inch border and top with cheese.
Fold up the top and bottom borders to seal the ends, and then wrap the side border of phyllo dough over the line of meat and cheese. Roll the phyllo dough into a log.
Place the log on a cookie sheet seam-side down and cut halfway through the log in 1 1/2 inch or so sections so that you have 8 equal sections still connected on the bottom.
Bake for about 25-30 minutes in center of a 350 degree oven. Cut the rest of the way through before serving. A serving is 2 pinwheels or 1/4 of the log.
