Ingredients

    Rice noodles, cooked, 1 cup
    Beef sirloin tip steak, sliced into thin, small pieces, 4 ounces
    Onion, chopped, 1 medium
    Baby Carrots, diced, 12
    Broccoli, cooked, 2 cups
    Bean sprouts, 2 cups
    Vegetable oil, 1 TBS.
    Garlic, minced, 1 tsp.
    Ginger root, 5 slices
    Prepared fish sauce (Nuoc Man Pha San), 2/3 cup
    Cilantro, fresh, 4 sprigs
    Thai basil, fresh, 2 sprigs
    Lime wedges, 2



Tips

Prepared fish sauce can be found in Asian markets. (This is the sauce usually served with spring rolls in Asian restaurants.)


Directions

Put oil into large frying pan. Add onions and carrots and cook over medium heat until onions begin to caramelize; stir often.

Add garlic, ginger root and beef. Cook until pink color disappears from beef - about 2-3 minutes.

Mix noodles, bean sprouts and broccoli into pan. Allow to cook over medium heat until everything is heated through - about 10 minutes.

Divide noodle mixture evenly into two large bowls. Drizzle fish sauce over the top of each. Garnish with torn pieces of cilantro and Thai basil, and squeeze the juice of a lime wedge over each serving.
