Ingredients

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 tablespoon canola oil
    3/4 cup water

Tips

The fat really should be lard or at least some kind of solidified fat.


Directions

Preheat oven to 500.

Whisk the flour, salt, and baking powder together in a mixing bowl. Mix in the oil in with your fingers until the flour resembles cornmeal. Add the water and mix until the dough comes together; place on a lightly floured surface and knead a few minutes until smooth and elastic. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.

Roll out balls to desired thickness and bake in one layer until golden on each side (about 1.5 minutes). Watch oven carefully!
