Introduction

This is a Scottish dish that is simply potatoes and turnips mashed together. This is a Scottish dish that is simply potatoes and turnips mashed together.

Ingredients

    1lb (two large) potatoes
    1lb (two large) turnips
    2tbs beef broth 97% fat free
    2tbs butter (optional)
    2tbs chives (can use onion or challot)
    1/4tsp Nutmeg (optional)
    salt and pepper to taste





Directions

**makes 8 servings**

1. Boil the potatoes and turnips in separate pans until fork tender (about 15 to 20 minutes) and then drain.

2. Mash them together adding the broth.

3. Stir in the chives, nutmeg, butter and season with the salt and pepper.
