Ingredients


    Simmer together, until chicken is done and broth is rich:
    18 oz (2, fresh) half-breasts chicken
    3 carrots, washed & broken into 3 pieces each
    2 stalks celery washed & broken into 3 pieces each
    1 large onion, halved
    2 teaspoons peppercorns
    3 teaspoons whole cloves
    2-3 bay leaves
    1 Tablespoon salt

    Remove breasts. Strain broth into clean pot. (Discard vegetables and flavorings solids.)

    Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. Return to broth over medium heat. Add:

    1 cup green beans, cut into 1" pieces
    3 carrots, peeled and cut into thin coins
    1 stalk celery, washed and diced

    Simmer until carrots are cooked.

    Mix to make soft dough:
    3 cups Bisquick
    1 cup milk


Directions

Drop 1/2 dough, by big tablespoons, onto simmering soup. (Makes about 6.) Simmer 10 minutes. Cover. Simmer 10 minutes more.
Dumplings will have puffed and cooked through. Remove 1st 6 dumplings and repeat the process with remaining dough.

Serving Size: makes 12 servings where 1 serving is a dumpling
