Ingredients

2 cups uncooked Quaker Multi-Grain cereal
1/2 cup dark raisins
1/2 cup snipped (1 1/2 pieces) pitted prunes
1/2 cup coarsely chopped whole natural (unblanched) almonds
1/2 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
1 1/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
2 tea ground cinnamon
1 tea baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tea vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter a 13X9-inch baking pan.
Combine the cereal, rainins, prunes, almonds, sunflower seeds, flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl, whisk the vegetable oil, brown sugar and egg until blended. Add the applesauce and vanilla; stir to blend. Add the dry ingredients and stir just until blended.
Spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown. Cook until lukewarm on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
These are good served warm from the oven.
NOTE: USE VEGETABLE OIL
