Ingredients
-
4 cups finely shredded caggabe, packed
1/2 cup long grain rice
1 tsp salt
sprinkle of pepper
sprinkle of garlic powder
1 lb lean ground turkey
1 can Campbell's condensed tomato soup
1/2 cup canned diced tomatoes with juice
1 to 1-1/2 cups of water
Tips
OPTION: Add 1/4 cup of sauted onions to the dish once it is finished cooking if desired.
Directions
Brown turkey in med-hi frying pan. (I use spray to coat pan to avoid more calories).
Put shredded cabbage into 1-1/2 quart casserole, mix in ground cooked turkey.
Pour rice over top (I tend to use a little less than 1/2 cup to keep the dish moist). Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic over rice. Pour tomato soup & canned tomatoes over top. Pour 1 cup of water over top (reserve the other half if needed near end of bake time).
Use a fork to poke here and there to allow rice and tomatoes into cabbage.
Cover. Back at 350° for 1 hour. Remove from oven and check for doneness (you can usually tell if rice is cooked by it's colour). Add more water (boiling) at this time if necessary as well. If needed, allow additional time to bake until rice is cooked and cabbage is tender.
