Introduction

Ingredients

    1 cup soured milk or buttermilk
    1-1/2 TB neutral oil
    2 TB Honey
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    2 cups A/P flour
    1-3/4 tsp active dry yeast

Tips

Honey acts as a natural preservative. To make soured milk, put 1 TB vinegar or lemon juice in a 1 cup measure and fill to top with milk. Bread machine prep and baking is approximately 3-1/2 hours depending on machine.


Directions

Make in bread machine. Wet ingredients first, then dry. Select 1-1/2 lb size, light crust on regular whole wheat setting.

For hand-made, follow typical hand made bread instructions for combining, kneading and baking
