Introduction

This chili is a way to sneak in some veggies! This chili is a way to sneak in some veggies!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    Ground beef, lean, 16 oz
    *Beans, Kidney beans dark red one can
    Newman's Own Bandito Salsa one small jar
    Onions, raw, 1 cup, diced
    tomatoes (fresh if you have it) diced small
    Garlic, 1 clove
    Zucchini, 1 cup, diced
    Carrots, raw, .5 cup diced
    or any other veggies you think would be good
    water (or beer or wine) 1 cup

    1 tsp cumin
    1/2 tsp chili powder
    little bit of cayenne

Tips

I put 90 in the cooking time, but it depends on your crock pot setting.


Directions

1. Get all ingredients out, chopped and ready to go.
2. Turn crock pot on low, add one cup water
3. Sautť onions and garlic until translucent, add to crock pot
4. Brown ground beef, season with chili powder, cumin, red pepper or cayenne pepper (or whatever seasoning you like) I donít like it too spicy, so add more if you do. My husband will add ghost pepper flakes to his! He has no taste buds
5. Add ground beef, beans, salsa (whatever heat level you like) tomatoes, and whatever veggies you are using to crock pot. Give it all a good stir. Put lid on crock pot.
6. If you are starting this late in the day, put the crock pot on high for couple of hours. If itís in the morning, you can put it on low and just leave it all day.
7. Can be served with shredded cheese, sour cream, and tortillas (those are not in the nutrition count)
