    100g margarine/Stork
    3 tbsp honey
    125g wholemeal flour (doesn't need to be wholemeal, but wholemeal adds healthy brownie points!)
    50g oats


1: Cream marg and honey really well, so that there are no lumps and is almost liquid.

2: Add the flour and oats, and mix well. Note that the mix will still be quite wet, and won't be rollable.

3: Spoon mix onto a greased tray, and bake at gas mark 5/200 C/390 F until golden and reasonably firm on the top. KEEP AN EYE ON THEM: they burn pretty quick after about 10/15 minutes.


** To spruce these up a bit, add some cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger to give them extra flavour.

** For chewier biscuits, mash a banana into the mixture (this will change the nutritional values featured.) This doesn't add a lot of flavour, so it's cool if you don't like banana, or have fussy sprogs!

** For crispier biscuits, gradually add more flour until the mix is firm. It can then be rolled and cut on a floured surface. Again, this will change the nutritional values.

** Chocolate versions can be achieved by adding a good couple of tbsps of low fat hot chocolate powder to the mix, or sugar free chocolate chips.

** Dried fruit + biscuits = happy tummy!

I devised this recipe for my birthday party this year. Everyone thought they were delicious, and they'd be right!

    I'm not sure where Bronski is from, but in many parts of the world a biscuit IS a cookie. - 12/29/08

    In my part of the world, biscuits are cookies, unless they're chocolate chip. Then we call them cookies. If it was up to me, I'd call both of them... soul food... but sadly, I don't even come close to Downing Street...
