Ingredients

    1 lb ground chicken
    1 lb ground turkey (85% lean)
    2 cans Gia Russa Sloppy Joe sauce
    1 can Gia Russa tomato sauce
    1 cup finely chopped onion
    2 tbsp Open Pit Honey BBQ sauce
    2 tbsp Heinz Simply Heinz tomato ketchup
    1 tbsp light brown sugar
    1 tsp finely ground sea salt
    1 tsp ground black pepper
    1/2 tsp ground red pepper
    1/2 tsp onion powder
    2 tbsp canola oil for sauteing meat

Tips

Simmer for longer or prepare the night before in a crock pot for more infused taste.

Serve over spaghetti or pasta and top with shredder cheese for "Sloppy Spaghetti".


Directions

1) Heat canola oil in large pot. Crumble ground chicken and turkey into pan along with chopped onion, sea salt, black and red pepper and onion powder. Saute until meat is browned and onions are translucent.

2) Remove from heat and stir in Sloppy Joe sauce, tomato sauce, BBQ, ketchup and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, cover, lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

3) During the last 15 minutes, remove lid, taste test for seasoning and allow to reduce down to desired thickness. Adjust seasoning according to preferred taste. Serve on sandwich rolls.

Serving Size: Makes 10 1/2-cup servings
