    1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
1/3 cup fine dry seasoned bread crumbs
    2 tbsp finely chopped onion
3 tbsp finely chopped water chestnuts
    3/4 tsp ground ginger
    1 tsp dried parsley
1 lb ground chicken (yields 12 oz cooked)
1/4 cup bottled sweet and sour sauce
    4 canned pineapple slices

In a medium mixing bowl, combine beaten egg, pepper, bread crumbs, onion, parsley, water chestnuts, and ginger. Add chicken and mix well. Form 4 patties 3/4" thick and place burgers on unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 4 inches from heat for 12-14 minutes or until no longer pink, turning once and brushing with about 2 tbsp bottled sweet and sour sauce during last 5 minutes or broiling. Meanwhile, place 4 canned pineapple slices on broiler pan. Broil for 1-2 minutes, turning as needed. Serve patties on toasted buns (not included in nutritional info) or alone with an additional 2 tbsp of sweet and sour sauce and pineapple slices on top.
