Ingredients

    Crust:
    7 graham crackers, crushed
    1/4 cup apple sauce, unsweetened
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/4 cup oatmeal

    Filling:
    3 cups sliced apples
    3/8 cup sugar
    1 tablespoon flour
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    pinch of nutmeg

Tips

For a 9 inch pie, double the entire recipe, both crust and filling.

This crust can be used for any fruit pie.

Directions

Crush graham crackers by hand or in a food processor. mix with apple sauce, sugar and oatmeal. Press half the mixture in a 7 inch pie plate, including up the sides.

Peel, core and slice apples, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice, until thoroughly coated. Pour into pie plate. Spread remaining crust mixture over top of apples. Cover completely, but do not worry about making a tight seal, as crust will need to be vented, anyway.

Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool and serve.
