Introduction

All natural ingredients make this diabetic friendly high protein bar useful as a midday snack or pre-workout munchie. Keeping our blood sugar level is important, so the grains are low glycemic. The nuts & peanut butter keep the foods from metabolizing too quickly. Pears are the primary sugar, but the body uses natural fruit better than processed sugar, due to the fiber. Ingredients

In large mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup dry oats. Add 1/2 cooked (1/4 C dry) quinoa to bowl. I used leftover quinoa.

Add 6 servings of muscle tech whey protein. Stir & mix.
Add 2 Tbs EACH of the followingseeds:
    Flax, Chia, & Sesame

Chop more finely 1/2 Cup of slivered almonds & 1/2 Cup of Planters Mixed Nuts. Add to the mix & stir again.

Wash & de-core 2 pears. Chop the flesh & skin to a pulp. Add to the bowl & mix. Not all the dry will take here. Add 4 Tbs cocoa to bowl. Mix.
Add 1/2 C smooth peanut butter to bowl & 2 Tbs pure vanilla. Mix very well. Texture should be like a thick paste, or a concrete.

Spray an 8 x 8 pan with non stick spray like Pam. Put contents into into pan & spread out level. Put into preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. You will smell it when it is done!

Tips

You will smell the cookie bar when it is almost done! Check its status then!!
Either precook the quinoa or use leftovers.

Directions

Spray 8x8 pan with non stick Pam. Spread well mixed contents into pan, level & spread evenly out to edges. Put into preheated 350 degree oven. Cook for 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
