Introduction

Makes 3 cups of bits. Nutrition count is for 1 cup.
These are so good in biscotti or scones....whatever.
I could not find them locally, but these work great. The labor comes in cutting them into tiny bits with a pizza cutter and a ruler. But I promise, they are worth the effort.

Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    1 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    6 TBS ground cinnamon
    4 TBS shortening
4 TBS corn syrup (light or dark works fine)

Tips

Serving Size: 3 cups - nutritional count is for 1 cup

Directions

Mix all 4 ingredients together to crumbly.
Place parchment on baking sheet. Using another piece on top, roll this mix out into the shape of the pan, so it is 1/4 in thick.
Bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. It will NOT be crispy.
Place paper on rack and let cool. It hardens up. When cool, using a ruler and a pizza cutter, cut into 1/8 inch strips. Just as narrow as you can handle. Then turn it crosswise and cut again, getting tiny cinnamon bits. Store in jar for up to 2 months. (Never lasts that long around here.)
