Introduction

Theses are really good for a chocolate fix first thing in the morning. They are very wholesome tasting and good for you. Theses are really good for a chocolate fix first thing in the morning. They are very wholesome tasting and good for you.
Number of Servings: 24

Ingredients

    2 2/3 cups whole wheat flour
    1 1/3 cups sugar
    1/2 cup baking cocoa
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 eggs
    1 1/4 cup applesauce
    1 1/2 cups buttermilk
    1/4 cup oil
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

in a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs, applesauce, buttermilk, oil and vanilla with a whisk. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips. Divide between 24 greased muffin cups. Bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes. Yield: 24 muffins.
