    2 cups fresh asparagus, cut in 1 in pieces
    4 cups water (can use chicken stock if desired)
    2 tbsp Smart Balance margarine
    2 tbsp White whole wheat flour
    2 tbsp Half & Half
    Salt and Pepper to taste


Place asparagus and water in medium pan, and cook. Drain asparagus, reserving liquid. Melt margarine in pan over medium heat, add flour and whisk, mixture will be thick. Whisk in water slowly until flour and water well combined. Bring to low boil and add asparagus. May need to add more liquid if too thick. Bring to a low boil once again, season and add half & half.
Makes 4 one cup servings
