    1/2 cup steelcut or old fashioned rolled oats (uncooked)
    2 cups water
    1 tsp fresh ginger, finely diced (or to taste)
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 small box (1.5 oz) raisins


put water, ginger, raisins, and cinnamon in small saucepan over high heat. when it boils, add oatmeal and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 30 minutes (or until done) stirring occasionally. Serve with sweetener of choice if desired.
