Ingredients

    2 cups granulated sugar
    1 cup splenda no calorie sweeter
    1 cup butter, melted
    1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    4 large eggs
    1 1/2 cups flour
    1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking soda
    2 tsp hot water
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 cup pecans, optional

Tips

Coat chocolate chips in cocoa powder before adding them to the mixture, to keep them suspended throughout the batter.


Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease 9 X 13 inch baking pan. In large bowl combine sugar, splenda and melted butter. Add vanilla extract. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Sift in flour, cocoa powder and salt, add to mixture in small batches. Stir after each addition until well combined. In small bowl mix hot water and baking soda. Add to mixture in large bowl and stir well. Add chocolate chips and nuts, if desired, stir until all is well blended. Pour mixture into 9 X 13 inch baking pan. Bake for 40 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in middle come out clean. Allow to cool in pan for 1 hour, cut into 24 pieces.
