Ingredients

1 fl oz Lemon Juice
1 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
0.25 tsp Baking Powder
0.50 tsp Baking Soda
0.75 cup, packed Brown Sugar
6 tsp packed Brown Sugar
1 cup Flour, white
1 cup Becel Margarine
100 grams Dates
1.5 cup Oats, Quaker (1 cup dry oats)
0.5 cup (1 serving) Kellogg's All-Bran Buds Cereal
Directions
Place the dates, sugar, lemon juice and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the baking soda and stir mixture until dates are softened and smooth. Set aside to cool.
Set aside 1/4 cup of oatmeal.
Process bran buds to a powder. Mix all remaining dry ingredients with bran buds and becel.
Spread half of the crust mixture in a 9x9 pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, spread the date mixture evenly over the crust. Add oatmeal to remaining crust mixture and sprinkle over date mixture. Return to oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
Serving Size: Makes 16 servings
