I changed this recipe and replaced sugar with splenda.
I used balsamic for vinegar and topped with chopped walnuts. It was DIVINE!

This was delicious--and easy. One of my new favorites is vinegar. Will use more next time. Served it with some fish and couscous. Mixed my serving in with my couscous, which made the couscous tastier. I don't get the rating by cookiejim--doesn't seem to be talking about this recipe. :) - 4/10/08

Easy and great compliment to dinner. Doubled everything but the sugar, added less than 1/4 cup raisins. - 6/13/11

This recipe is really good. Had it last week
without the apple. I've been craving it ever since. I'm making my second batch now.

I am not sure what kind of vinegar the original recipe had, but I used red wine vinegar. It needs a bit more of a "bite," but it was very good and will be a favorite way to get another veggie serving! - 9/24/10

I'm not a big whole wheat fan but am leaning that way .I added 1 tspn.baking soda and used buttermilk for liquid.
I also added 1/3 cp dried cherries for taste and vitamins.I rarely make the same recipe twice so this rating is no reflection on the finished product. Chef Jim
