Ingredients
-
.66 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 serving 1 Med. Green Bell Pepper
1 serving 1 med yellow onion (by TODD7623)
907 grams Turkey (dark meat)
2.5 cup Tomato Sauce
8 tsp unpacked Brown Sugar
6 tsp Apple Cider Vinager (by CELESTIALBEAUTY)
4 tsp Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce
2.6 tsp Dry Mustard (by POPEYETHETURTLE)
2 tsp Chili powder
.33 tsp Salt
.33 tsp Pepper, black
Directions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pepper and onion, and cook, stirring often, until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Add turkey and cook, stirring often, until browned, about 15 minutes.
In a standard slow cooker, combine turkey mixture, ham, tomato sauce, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, salt and pepper. Cook on high, stirring occasionally, until flavors have melded, 3 to 4 hours. Serve immediately, or reduce heat to low (or the “warm” setting, depending on your slow cooker) and serve spooning it onto hamburger buns.
