Ingredients

    1 medium onion chopped
    3 carrots sliced
    1.5 lbs. lean beef cubed
    2 qrts. water
    8 beef boullion cubes
    3 Tbls. cornstarch
    3 Tbls. water
    8 okra sliced
    3 medium potato cubed
    1 14 oz. can diced tomato
    1/2 cup minute rice
    1/2 cup pearl barley
    3 cloves garlic chopped
    1 Tbls. parsley
    1 Tbls. basil
    1 bay leaf
    1 Tbls. thyme
    1 Tbls. rosemary
    2 Tbls. worcestershire sauce
    2 Tbls. balsamic vinegar
    3 Tbls. A/1 sauce
    olive oil

Directions

add olive oil to medium stock pan heat on medium-high add beef and cook till 1/2 browned
then add onion and garlic cook till meat is done
add tomato and water about 2 quarts bring to a low boil then add boullion cubes along with carrot potato okra worcestershire balsamic vinegar A/1 sauce and all spices lower heat to simmer and cook for about 1.5 hours stiring a few times leave cover slightly off edge at 1.5 hours add rice and barley now mix cornstarch with water and bring stew to a boil add cornstarch slowly to stew mixing the whole time when stew thickens cover and turn off till ready to serve
