Ingredients

700 gram(s) asda stewing steak
300 grams Shallots
200 grams Mushrooms, fresh
100 gram(s) ASDA Smoked Back Bacon (by DEL0RIAN)
1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
1 1tsp Olive Oil
2 serving Clove of Garlic (by BCOH1478)
7 oz Red Wine - Yellow Tail Merlot
2 tbsp asda tomato puree (by ROSE-MARY)
500 mL Water, tap
1 serving Beef stock cube (Knorr) (by NOME__)
2 grams Bay Leaf
1 tbsp Thyme, ground
30 g Cornflour (UK)
30 mL Water, tap
3 dash Pepper, black
1 dash Salt
1 sprigs Parsley
Directions
Preheat oven to 170/150 degrees for fan,
Trim steak of hard fat, dice into chunks 4cm season with salt and fresh ground pepper. Trim bacon and cut into 2cm slices.
Heat oil in casserole dish, fry beef and bacon over med/high heat until lightly browned all over (3 mins).
Add onions and crushed garlic fry for further 2 mins. Pour over wine and stir in puree and water, crumble over stock cube, add herbs and simmer. Stir well cover with lid and transfer to oven. Cook for 90 minutes.
Peel shallots place in heatproof bowl and cover with just boiled water. Leave for 5 mins then drain. Allow to cool then trim the roots and set aside.
Remove casserole dish, stir in shallots and halved mushrooms. Return to the oven for 45 minutes or until beef is tender.
Mix cornflour with 2 tablespoons of water until smooth, stir into casserole. Place dish on hob and simmer for couple of minutes until thickened stirring occasionally.
Adjust seasoning to taste sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve with small portion of rice or mashed potatoes no green beans.
