Introduction

quick, homemade and I know what I am feeding my family . quick, homemade and I know what I am feeding my family .
Number of Servings: 30

Ingredients

    .25 cup Butter, unsalted
    .25 tbsp Honey
    .33 cup, packed Brown Sugar
2 cup Quaker Oats - Quick 1 Minute - Dry
1 cup Kellogg's Rice Crispies Toasted Rice Cereal (1 1/4 Cups (33g/1.2 oz.))
.5 tsp Vanilla extract, imitation, alcohol
32 tbsp Chocolate, Nestle Real Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Tips

Skip the chips to lower the sugar and add chopped dried fruit instead, yes it is a little bit high in sugar for fruit but it is still better than the chocolate chips. but mine were made for a kid party with what was on hand and I had one so I to write the recipe on Sparkpeople.

Directions

Lightly grease 11x7 or 12x8 pan
stir oats and cereal in a bowl, set aside
in saucepan melt butter, sugar, honey over med. When it boils reduce heat and cook 2 mins
remove from heat stir in vanilla, pour over cereal mixture and mix till well blended.
Press into pan to 3/4 inch thick (it only filled the pan I used about 1/2 way)
Cool 5 mins add chips to top, pressin , if they are not pressing in and getting a little melty then put in oven on broil about a min or less just really watch. then spread with table knife .
Wait 1 1/2 hrs and slice into squares I did a grid of 6x5
store up to 2 weeks covered. or wrap individually to toss in lunch boxes.
