Tips
Swap out the nuts and add dried fruit, spices (i.e. cinnamon, vanilla extract, etc) for variations.
Directions
Toast oats in an oven on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees.
Roughly chop dates to be about 1 cup in measurement. If they aren't very sticky, add some warm water for 5-10 min then drain. Blend the dates using a blender, fork, etc. The stickier/ thicker, the better.
Combine dates, oats, nuts, dried fruit (optional) and chocolate chips in a mixing bowl.
Heat up honey and nut butter in a cooking pan on med. heat. Add to bowl and combine all ingredients. Press ingredients into a baking tray, 8"x8" or 9"x9", lined with parchment paper. Place in freezer 30 min, or until you are ready to eat them. Pull out, and while still frozen, slice into 10 bars for serving. Store in a covered container to keep from drying out.
