    1 medium head of cabbage
    2 pounds lean hamburger
    2 cups cooked rice
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1/2 cup chopped celery
    1/4 cup chopped green pepper
    2- 10.75oz tomato soup
    1-1 pound 12oz canned crushed tomatoes
    2 tsp light salt.
    1 tsp ground pepper
    1 tsp garlic powder


In large pot of water cook cabbage head, removing leaves as they become tender. ;ut leaves in strainer and let drain.
cook rice according to package.
I cup rice, 2 cups water.
Add hamburger, onions, celery, green pepper and spices, Cook untill well done in large pot.
Drain any excess grease. Add 1 can tomato soup the meat. Mix well. Add rice mix well.
Add 1 cup of meat and rice to each cabbage leaf. roll tucking side in and hard stem is facing down.

Mix canned crushed tomatoes and 1 can tomato soup in large bowl. Spray bottom and sides of roasting pan with cooking spray. Add enough tomato sause to cover bottom of roaster. Layer cabbage rolls over sause, and repeat layers if necessery. Pour remaining sause over rolls cover and bake 45 minutes

  • To make things faster freeze your cabbage and thaw before making this dish and you can roll leaves just like if you had cooked it but it is much easier to handle. - 3/21/07
