This recipe uses a hint that I got from a chef at a popular restaurant. This recipe uses a hint that I got from a chef at a popular restaurant.
Number of Servings: 8


    2 Qt. diced canned tomatoes (or 4 cans)
    1 can of tomato paste
    1 tbls salt
    2 tbls dehydrated onion flakes or (1/2 onion diced)
    1 Tbls each of fresh; oregano, thyme and basil
    1 glove of garlic diced
    1/2 cup grape jelly


In a large sauce pan combine tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs, grape jelly, onion and garlic. Simmer for 20 minutes stiring occationally. Serve over your favorite pasta, use in lazagna or as a meat sauce. it is the grape jelly that gives this simple, family friendly sauce the authentic italian flavor without using wine.
