Ingredients

    3.5 cup Wegmans Organic Garbanzo Beans (by MIGGIMAG)
    16 tbsp Tahini, Organic, Wegmans
    .5 tsp Cumin (ground) (by IVORYGRL1)
    1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    16 tsp Lemon Juice 'Real Lemon' 100% juice
    3 tsp Garlic Salt

Tips

Make sure to use ice cold water when blending the chickpeas.
Dried chickpeas (1 cup) can be used in place of canned: cook according to package directions.


Directions

1. Boil chickpeas until they start to fall apart (key to smooth, creamy hummus is overcooked chickpeas)
2. Blend lemon juice, garlic and 1/4 tsp of salt and let sit 10 min
3. Add tahini and remaining 2 3/4 tsp salt and cumin, blend until a thick paste forms.
4. Add 1/3 to 2/3 cup ice water while blender is running, little at a time, until mixture is smooth.
5. Add warm, drained chickpeas and blend until perfectly smooth. May take upward of 2 minutes, add a little water if needed.
6. Season to taste!

Serving Size: 0.5 cup
