    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. butter, softened
    1/ tsp vanilla
    1 egg white
    1 c. whole wheat flour
    3 tbsp baking cocoa
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/8 tsp salt
    1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate chips


1. Heat oven to 375. Beat brown sugar and butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, or mix with spoon. Beat vanilla and egg white.
2. Stir in flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 8 to 9 minutes or until set (do not overbake). Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
