Ingredients
-
24 oz Pork Chops (center cut pork loin)
12 fl oz Apple juice, unsweetened
0.25 cup Aunt Jamima Light Maple Syrup
3 tsp Dijon Mustard (Great Value)
0.5 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (by SHERILG)
1.5 tsp Salt (table) (by CYNDYY1)
6 tsp unpacked Brown Sugar
2 tsp Chili powder
1 tsp Garlic powder
.5 tsp Pepper, black
1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Directions
Make a Rub
- combine brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, 1 tsp of salt, and black pepper until well combined. Add the EVOO and mix well again.
- rub into both sides of thawed pork chops and let sit 30 minutes to 3 hours
Make the Glaze
- in a small saucepan, bring apple juice (can use apple cider for a more intense flavor), maple syrup, dijon mustard, red pepper flakes, and 1/2 tsp salt to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until well combined.
Time for the Chops
- preheat a nonstick pan over medium heat
- place pork chops in the pan and brush liberally with the glaze.
-cook 6 minutes. (You may need to reduce the heat, because the rub and glaze burn easily) Brush with glaze again, then flip.
-brush with glaze and cook 2 minutes.
*continue brushing and flipping every 2 minutes until done...12-15 minutes total.
