Introduction

Ingredients

    1 C chopped onions
    1 C shopped celery
    2 C finely diced raw potatoes
    1/2 C margarine or butter
    3/4 C flour
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp sugar

Directions

Cover vegetables with water and simmer until tender. Meanwhile, melt butter in saucepan and stir flour. Add half and half, salt and sugar. Heat to boiling and cook gently another 2-3 minutes, until thickened. Add to vegetables and add clams or ham. Simmer gently 30 minutes to blend flavors or in crockpot on low for 2-3 hours.
