A chicken-based chinese food from my mom's home-ec class. A chicken-based chinese food from my mom's home-ec class.
Number of Servings: 2


    2 T margarine
    1 chicken breat
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    1 t salt
    1/8 t pepper
    1 c. finely sliced celery
    1c. hot water
    1 can bean sprouts, drained

    1/3 c. cold water
    2 T cornstarch
    1T dark corn syrup


Melt margarine in hot skillet. Add onions and meat. Fry for 5 min. Add celery, salt, pepper, and hot water. Cover and for 5 min. Add drained bean srouts. Mix and heat to boiling point. Add thickening ingredients. Stir and cook for 5 min.

Serve over rice or noodles.

** you can decrease the calories and fat even more by using a fat-free margarine!
