Number of Servings: 16


    1 cup skim milk
    3/4 cup Stovetop Stuffing dry mix
    1 egg
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1/2 large onion, chopped
    1 Tbsp Ketchup
    1 tsp sugar
    1 tsp dill
    1 tsp Italian seasoning
    1/2 pound Jimmy Dean Sausage
    1 pound ground beef

    1/4 cup ketchup
    1/4 cup A-1 or Country Bob's
    2 Tbsp Brown Sugar


Mix milk and stuffing mix and let set. Chop green peppers and onions, then add all ingredients (excepts sauce items). Shape by hand into 2 loaves and set then on a broiler pan (so fat can drip off). Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Mix 3 sauce ingredients and spread on top of loaves. Bake another 15 minutes or until sauce is carmelized.

I use regular ground beef (20-30% fat), but because most fat drips off, I calculated as if extra lean beef were used.

Makes 16 servings (8 slices per loaf).
